You have probably heard myths and stories about the latest generation of databases around. Referred simply as NoSQL Databases, they are surrounded by hype and mystery in the better part of developers community. The features that they are associates with – scalability, reliability and fault tolerance are proven by giants as Amazon, Google and Facebook.
Cassandra is one of the more notable NoSQL databases around that is believed to be the engine behind the Facebook success. Developed in Java and as Apache project it is viable alternative for Java developers around the world to venture into the NoSQL world.
